Strong complementary traits between the two economies have helped foster closer bilateral trade cooperation. In 2017, China replaced Japan as the Philippines’ largest trading partner. China is also the largest source of imports and the second largest source country of foreign tourist arrivals in the Philippines. The two counties enjoy huge potential for future cooperation.
